![]() ![]() ![]() I think we just don’t want to admit it because we all wanted so badly for the game to be great. Oh but Diablo is for a broader audience? That’s the excuse? It’s a cop out excuse. Meanwhile, last epoch gives each skill their own skill trees with nodes that drastically change the look and feel of each ability in tons of different ways without making you feel overwhelmed. Your pyromancer is the same as my pyromancer, apart from maybe choosing fire ball instead of incinerate. And that’s an indie game man.Īnd holy crap is the skill tree in Diablo 4 boring. You can suddenly throw an axe, or summon bees, or leech health with elemental damage, and the list goes on forever. Hell, Last Epoch, an indie game has TONS of unique items with very interesting, visual, fun affects that mix things up, right from the start of the campaign. From level 1 to 100 you pretty much do nothing but use the same skill combos over and over again with little to no interesting passive aspects to really mix things up. And holy crap is the list of unique items laughably small for an ARPG. But in Diablo 4, all you get is almost entirely nothing but stat boosts. The passive affects on gear kept things fresh and fun, which kept you from feeling the burn out of using the same skill combos once you were married to them. And mind you, these are aspects on legendary pieces of gear. How is it that a garbage game like Diablo 3 did better when it came to aspects on gear? Very early in the campaign of D3 you’d find gear that would give you a chance to summon a ghost to fight with you, or allow you to summon an extra hydra, or have a chance to generate elemental orbs, or having a treasure goblin follower that collects and drops good gear, or a hundred other examples. ![]()
